OUR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Is NOT ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS RIGHT NOW.
Check back in a few weeks.
Society Scholarship Committee is to provide oversight of the Scholarship program designed to assist underprivileged, well deserved, promising Panamanian students an opportunity for advanced education. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of their potential to succeed, academic achievement, leadership, and participation in school and community activities, maintain a 4.0 GPA, and desire to become fluent in the English language.
The scholarship application form, is due September 1 of each year, and is available online in August. Please support us in distributing to schools, friends, and/or students you know could benefit from this program. Please address questions to any committee member listed below.
Together we can do more! Members of the Weston Rotary Club in Florida, the Manzanillo International Terminal in Colon, Pan Am Academic Network, and The American Society of Panama combined efforts and resources to give Waldimir Castillo (April 2015) from Colegio Abel Bravo in Colón, an opportunity to attend the District 6990 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Workshop held at the Junior Achievement Center, Coconut Creek, Florida. We also filled out Visa applications and paid the visas for Meibys Samaniego and Mileyka Santizo (May, 2016) to attend a month-long Sagemont School ESL camp, also in Weston, FL. This was a tremendous honor for both Waldimir and the girls. They are excellent students with strong leadership skills, and 4.6, 4.5 and 4.3 GPA’s, respectively. This is an experience they will always remember. They were hosted in Weston, FL by Mr. and Mrs. Jorge Brathwaite.
Never stop learning because life never stops teaching is a saying we give to “our students”.

The American Society is a registered non-profit Society that over the years has provided money, goods, and labor in support of various Panamanian schools & students.
In recent years, our primary focus has been on education and, specifically, supporting students to reach their academic dreams through tuition scholarships. In all cases, these are students who have maintained high educational standards but would not be able to continue their education without our help. Our goal was to help these students gain economic independence and make positive changes, not only in their own lives and in the lives of their families, but in their community.
We are currently supporting students in various schools, with the vision to increase the number of students & funds. We need your help to continue this very worthwhile endeavor by coming out to our events and supporting our efforts. We aim to provide hope and a bright future for these students.
To make a donation or learn more about our program, please send an email to american.society.panama@gmail.com or call 6672-1718.
We appreciate your support and know that there are many deserving students who could and should be applying.
